of Burlington is famous
for its quintessential charm and architectural beauty and is consistently ranked

Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, Birds of Vermont
Museum and UVM's Perkins Geology Museum, The ECHO Center,
Fleming Museum and Francis Colburn Gallery. For the outdoor enthusiast, Burlington's
beautiful waterfront features nine miles of spectacular bike paths and walking
trails bordering the shores of lovely Lake Champlain. The Burlington Church
Street Marketplace provides visitors with year-round shopping dining
& entertainment and features hundreds of unique boutiques, street vendors,
galleries and cafes. During the winter months the ski
resorts of Jay Peak, Smuggler's Notch, Stratton, Killington
and Sugarbush offer a multitude of winter sports and excellent downhill skiing.
Over on the New york side of Lake Champlain skiers can also discover famous Whiteface
Mountain, site of both the 1932 &1980 winter Olympic games.
In
April 1997, Burlington received the "Great American Main Street Award" from the
National Trust for Historic Preservation. The award honors efforts to revitalize
downtowns. Burlington has also been ranked as one of the "hippest arts towns in
America" by John Villani in his book The 100 Best Small Art Towns, 1997. In addition
to its historical and artistic attractions, the Lake Champlain Valley is home
to a number of festivals, craft fairs, tours, antique shops, sporting events,
outdoor recreation, great dining and more! Adams

Birds of Vermont Museum
On exhibit, at the Birds of Vermont Museum, are more than 445 biologically accurate
wooden carvings of over 250 species of birds, including Vermont's nesting birds
in natural habitat displays with actual nests and wooden eggs, wetland birds,
raptors, a gallery of extinct and endangered birds of North America. Watch live
birds through a one-way window.

The
Vermont Brewers Festival is held annually at the Waterfront Park in Burlington.
Brewers from all over Vermont, renowned for their high quality products, are invited
to take part in the event. A village of tents are set up in the park, and visitors
are welcome to sample the different beers, as well as enjoy great food and entertainment.
Vermont
Stage Company For over ten years this local theater has highlighted performances
with the best regional and Vermont-based actors. Featuring classics and new works,
the theater operates from September through May. Burlington

of Vermont, Burlington | The
University of Vermont The University of Vermont, established in 1791,
is the largest institution of higher learning in Vermont, comprising nearly 300
buildings and a 950-acre main campus. The university maintains a dual focus on
instruction and research. Its enrollment is 7,601 undergraduates, 1,106 graduates
and 394 medical students. The average undergraduate class size is 22. The
University of Vermont faculty consists of 974 full-time and 183 part-time instructors.
Most of the undergraduates are from outside Vermont, principally the Northeastern
states. UVM offers more than 90 undergraduate majors; the most popular are business,
English, and political science. The university also offers four preprofessional
programs; 72 master's and 20 doctoral degree programs; and an M.D. program.

September 1, 2008 Body Language ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center -- Burlington
Explore the science of movement at ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center this
summer, where the interactive exhibit Body Language brings physics to life. The
physics of human movement is such an integrated part of our lives that it can
be a difficult concept to understand. That’s where Body Language is unique: The
first exhibit designed by professional dancers and physicists, it’s an experiential
journey into the wonders of human movement. Body Language combines innovative
exhibit elements like Snibbe Interactive Installations and the Whittaker Center
for Science’s Bodies in Motion collection; providing over 17 dynamic interactives
that make the physics of movement accessible to children and adults of all ages.

Albans The City of St Albans
is located near Lake Champlain in the Northwest corner of the state and was originally
settled in 1774 and incorporated as a city in 1897. During the Civil War period,
Saint Albans was the scene of the northernmost engagement of the American Civil
